Hi, I’m Laura Nicholson – the artist behind Nicholson Studio. I live on the northeast coast of Scotland, where the dramatic skies, shifting light, and wild landscape are a constant source of inspiration.

I create one-off original acrylic paintings in earthy, calming tones, designed to bring depth and atmosphere to contemporary interiors. My work explores the beauty of contrast – from dark, moody seascapes to light, peaceful skies – capturing the emotional pull of the Scottish coastline in every piece.

Before founding Nicholson Studio, I ran a successful makeup business. Creativity has always been at the heart of what I do, and now I focus fully on my art – creating timeless, textured works that bring a sense of place and calm into your home.
